The event

Where 550+ teams from 15+ countries compete every spring

The Umag Trophy brings together youth academies and clubs from across Europe for five weekends of competitive football on Croatia's Istrian coast. Over 2,000 matches, professional organisation, and an atmosphere that rivals tournaments — from a packed ATP Stadium opening ceremony to Sunday final showdowns.

Ceremonies at the ATP Stadium

Opening ceremony with pyro show at the Goran Ivanišević ATP Stadium. Closing ceremony with medals, cups and rotating (challenge) trophies for every category.

Full-board accommodation included

Stay at Plava Laguna resort hotels on the Adriatic coast. All meals, shuttle transfers to pitches and tourist tax included.

3 days of non-stop football

Group stage round-robin on Friday and Saturday, knockout brackets on Sunday. Every team gets an official final ranking.

A programme beyond football

Live entertainment, mascot appearances, freestyle challenges and a fan zone with a rich culinary offering. An experience for players, coaches and travelling families alike.

Seven categories, U8 to U14

Each category plays its own Thursday-to-Sunday weekend. Rules and pitch sizes are adapted to age, following IFAB laws of the game.

How it works

Tournament format

Every team plays a minimum of six matches across four days. The format ensures competitive balance while giving every team a meaningful final ranking.

Thursday

Check-in at your hotel (14:00–17:00). Technical meeting at Hotel Pelegrin. Opening ceremony at the ATP Stadium "Goran Ivanišević" with all teams.

Friday — Group stage

Group phase of the competition. Up to 16 groups per category, maximum 8 teams per group. Every team plays all other teams in their group.

Saturday — Ranking begins

Group-phase matches conclude. Based on final standings, teams are seeded into Gold, Silver, Bronze or Fair Play brackets for the knockout rounds.

Sunday — Finals & ceremony

Quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals across all brackets. Closing ceremony with medals for all, cups for top 4, rotating (challenge) trophies for category winners, and Fair-Play award.

Gold bracket

The two best-placed teams from each group advance to the Gold group, played as a knockout — starting at the round of 16 (1/8 finals) with 8 groups, or the round of 32 (1/16 finals) with 16 groups.

Silver, Bronze and Fair Play group

Lower-placed teams continue in the Silver, Bronze or Fair Play group, as defined by the competition format, and play one match for their final placing.
